The flight from Singapore was fine, except for one big thing. You might laugh, but it really irritates me (no, worse than that!). I always seem to find myself in a seat behind someone who relishes in reclining as far as possible for as long as possible. Grrrr!

The trouble is, my back is much better if I keep the seat upright.
Today it was even worse than usual.
The (small) screen was about eight inches from my eyes so I had no chance of seeing any films without incurring a hefty headache. Fortunately I had an alternative on my iPad so resorted to that.
The culprit didn't wake up for food so I had very little room to eat my meal. The result was three spills involving pasta in tomato sauce down my lovely white top. Eventually I managed to get to the toilet and I think I've washed enough of it out so it won't be ruined.
Melbourne - and what a contrast, right from the word "go" with the traffic. No horns tooting, or not so as you'd notice, and just the odd motorbike, instead of the packs we've become accustomed to.
It's been raining though - all morning and most of the afternoon. We popped out to investigate a couple of streets away from the hotel, but didn't venture further until this evening, when we took the tram to St Kilda where we walked along the beach and found a good restaurant.

Beside the seaside
Back visiting St Kilda which I know well from Marie's time in OZ some years ago.
10-minute tram ride from our hotel by Albert Park on the trusty number 16 drops us by the sea shore.
Plenty of (push) bikers and some beach volleyball but the historic Luna Park amusement grounds and neighbouring Palais Theatre have seen better days.
Main street with its wide variety of bars/restaurants as busy as ever though and the Abbey Road with plenty of pix on the walls of The Beatles and various others fed and wined us.
Will likely return as our Melbourne schedule is less frantic than Vietnam.
Great to be back despite some persistent rain until early evening more reminiscent of Hanoi.
